Costa Rica enjoys a higher standard of living than many other coffee growing countries. Still, its many rural communities lag behind the more developed areas, particularly when it comes to computer technology. In order to help them catch up, we hired a computer instructor to teach each grade at the school that serves the children of La Hilda Estate. We pay her salary through the purchases made from our coffee contract.
